Good Governance

  1. Bangladesh: After the victory in the July-August revolution in Bangladesh, the students of this country want to bury one of the worst fascist regimes in history, under the leadership of Prof. Muhammad Yunus, so that it never comes back in any form. They also expect Mr. Yunus to build all the institutions essential to good governance in such a way that they will last from generation to generation without any maintenance. I have my own thoughts on this. I would like to take this opportunity to present it to the nation very humbly in Bangla. Continue..

  2. National & Local Government: Accountability of elected representatives through flawless elections is not enough for quality democracy, transparency in their work is also essential. It must be kept in mind that the aim of democracy is the highest possible reflection of the people’s will (not of the people’s representatives) at all levels of the government. Quality democracy is, therefore, impossible without bringing the activities of the representatives under people’s monitoring. But the people have no time to do it because they are busy with their livelihood and don’t have the expertise. The work is challenging but can be made possible. Here is the detailed plan for this. This indicates a strong possibility of reducing the defense budget if Muslim countries adopt a unified approach supplemented with special arrangements for other Muslim countries isolated from each other. In the absence of effective global governance, it has become necessary for Muslims to protect themselves from those who are unnecessarily hostile only because of religion. Here is a draft proposal to materialise it. Continue..

  5. Islam, the most misunderstood religion: Islam is the only religion that has some unique characteristics, namely, (i) It has a divine book of revelation that Allah commits in verse 15:9 to protect it from all sorts of human intervention. Millions of people have been seen memorising in all ages since its revelation. (ii) The Quran has 6236 verses, none contradicting the other. Scientists familiar with the Quran agree that there is nothing in the Quran contradicting Science. Many verses describe scientific truths centuries before their actual discovery, indicating the divinity of the Qur'an. But the Muslims are much behind the others in education and human quality because they are trying to follow blindly the West, forgetting their golden past and the invaluable teaching of Islam. This article aims to draw the attention of all concerned to the teachings of Islam that tell never to harm anyone and to do good for others only to please Allah and not for any worldly interests. Continue..

  6. Desirable reforms of Miscellaneous works of public interest: These are the thoughts of the author on various issues of public interest documented here in Bangla. They are in Bangla because they are related to problems mostly of a domestic nature Continue..
